Born on August, 29 1958 in Indiana, Michael Joseph Jackson was the seventh child of Afro-American parents Joseph Walter Jackson and Katherine Esther. Michael experienced a very awful child hood mainly because of the cruel nature and violent behavior of his father. In many of his interviews Jackson said that he was physically and emotionally abused by his father. According to Marlon Jackson — Joseph held Michael upside down by one leg and "pummeled him over and over again with his hand, hitting him on his back and buttocks". In an interview Jackson recalled that one night Joseph climbed through his bedroom window, wearing a scary mask and entered the room screaming and shouting loudly. And after this incident Jackson suffered nightmares and he would cry badly. While telling this dreadful event of his childhood Michael could not stop his tears and covered his face while crying. Jackson was a lonely and disturbed child; even as an adult he was a very lonely man which he confessed to his friend. As said by Michael the strict discipline and harsh attitude of his father helped him to gain courage and invoked in him the feeling to do something and that’s why he credited his father as playing a great role in his successes.

Michael has left profound impact over various artists such as Mariah Carey, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake who are largely influenced by his style. Almost all of the artists as well as Michael’s fans showed their inner feelings of sorrow over the death of the legendary star where most of people were speechless and shocked to hear the news and could hardly believe that Michael is dead. For them, it was terrible joke or a sort of nightmare.
Michael lived a very instable, stressed and lonely life since his child hood, which he uttered many times. In an interview when he was asked to give a message to his fans he replied that” I want my fans to listen to my song “Childhood” which is the most honest song I have ever written and the most autobiographical song I have ever written”. This song, according to Michael is the most honest expression of his inner self and his true feelings and tells what actually he is if his fans really want to know about him. He would always thank his fans for their support and love and articulated his love from the core of his heart for his fans. Other than his tense and disturbed life, he has been the victim of various charges and allegations at the peak of his fame. But, despite being accused of these charges the fame and appeal was never declined. His charm and influence proved to be everlasting and nothing could destroy his popularity.
Michael did a lot for the oppressed people of the world especially for children of the world. He provided his moral support to them through his songs and also the material support through charities and donations. Jackson was mentioned in Guinness Book of World Record for his support of 39 charities which is the largest number of charities by any artist. He ran different foundations and charities, and donated millions for the support and cause of the deprived people. Apart from the music dance and the voice, his lyrics show his beautiful thoughts, his kind heart and his love and passion for humanity and for betterment of this world. As he himself claimed that “I will never stop loving and helping people and I believe to always love and continue to love”. Many songs of him, other than giving joy and excitement to its listeners, give a message a deep and thoughtful message and show his concern for the world and for the mankind, like “Heal the World”, “Earth Song”, “Black or White” etc.
For me, Michael was not just a pop star; he was much more than an artist. I believe him to be a true human who had love, concern, enthusiasm, sympathy and devotion for every human who ever it was where ever it was. For millions of his fans he will always be in their minds as a sweet memory, his music will remain in their lives and he will be ruling their hearts forever.
