The story of a Daughter- a special daughter who by virtue of her father’s position in the Pak judiciary was selected to benefit from the benevolence of our system which is moulded to provide special privileges to the already privileged class of this country.
The daughter thanks to the pusillanimous Chairman Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) is reported to have had her exam papers reexamined and ended up by getting 21 extra marks converting her C grade to B.
We are assuming that the honorable father signifying the remnant of the past dictatorial regime of Mr. Musharraf has no knowledge of this sordid episode. Factotums in this country are know to specialize on seeking and providing privileges to the elite. This sounds to be a similar case where the father would deny having any knowledge or clue about the special marks allocated to his daughter.
The story should end with the honourable father calling an inquiry in the whole episode and punishing the sycophants who were brave enough to plan such a stinking plot and maligning the whole education system with negative reflections on the judiciary.
This country is fully of sycophants who specialise in pleasing the ruling class and as a reward seek bending of rules in their favour- the proverbial “you scratch my back, I scratch your back” is a phenomena which is going on and on with no end visible in the future. The NRO is an example whereby one crook was able to exonerate the other crooks in lieu of certain privileges and immunity from law. In no decent democracy is such sordid bargaining at the expense of the tax payers money tolerated. Its time to end the privileges of the privileged class which has pushed the country on the brink of a major financial disaster. Had our privileged class not abused the system and suck the very life out off its veins the country’s institutions would have grown strong and benefited the poor and the country. It would have been impossible for any privileged student with father’s ruling on top to violate the rights of the hard working student if our education system was not as corrupted as other institutions.
The education system needs special surgery to cure it of its diseases and rid it of major tumours that have rendered its heads as sick and obsolete. There is a mafia that is running the entire exam system. You can buy examination papers, get the type of grades you want by paying money and even buy degrees and become a qualified citizen of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Our ministers have found a better way of getting foreign degrees-they just click and get a doctorate degree on-line from a fake University that exists on cyber space only. In Pakistan unfortunately, its not your degree or the wisdom that you have –the most important factor in the equation of individual progress is the position of your father or the master you serve.
So-called success stories in this country will testify to how kids whose father was able to pull the right leg or string were able to get good jobs and admission in good institutions.
Our prevailing system which is the very negation of the merit policy would not only endanger the existence of their state but push us into oblivion.
The government needs to strengthen and invest heavily in the judiciary, education and the health system before it decides to build and strengthen its arms against its neighbors. The nuclear weapons and the entire missile system with the bunch of obsolete F-16 and tanks would not save us from an imminent collapse if the upper class keeps on raping the system and pushing the poor to donate their children to Edhi foundation for the lack of a few chappatis.
Pakistan does not need such daughter and sons who begin their careers by stealing other people’s rights and later in life convert into champions of democracy and good governance. Such qualified white collar crooks should not be allowed to enter our systems if one wishes to have presidents, minister’s in futures not specializing in getting percentages from public development funds and foreign aid.
