President Bush’s recent statement that the US respected Pakistan’s sovereignty and the subsequent missile strikes in Waziristan shows the lack of sincerity in the American president’s oft-repeated assertion. The fact is that US drones will continue to strike at will within Pakistani territory without caring about the response of the Pakistani government. No other state in the world, let alone a nuclear power, would stand such blatant disregard of international law. I wonder what our government is up to.
