Assassination of Benazir Bhutto is a tragic event of the country’s history. President Musharraf is responsible for martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto. Political parties are not getting united to launch movement against President Musharraf because of their personal interests. Only the APDM and PML-N are talking about restoration of judiciary. PPP leadership is joining hands with a dictator. Nawaz Sharif will not do so nor will he support Zardari on this issue.
People have lost their confidence on the elections and they are disappointed over the role of political parties.
These views were expressed by Jamaat-i-Islami leader Liaquat Baloch in an interview with weekly Pulse.
He said harassment was being fomented under a conspiracy to prevent people from going to polling stations to cast votes.

If Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiyani is sincere in his stance on withdrawal of serving military officers from civil departments then he should first withdraw generals from the National Security Council and should himself resign from the council.
He should join the masses rather than comply with the decisions of the US and Gen Musharraf.
Liaquat Baloch was of the view that some hidden hands were trying to destabilize the country. Upsurge in suicide attacks is aimed at dissuading the people from casting votes so than turn our remains low.

President Musharraf tried to convince the people to shun Jehad. He is going for dialogue with India at the behest of the US and cooperating with the US, Baloch alleged.
There should be supremacy of Constitution and parliament in the country. President Musharraf should step down if he wanted an end to all ills. “We have a complete document in the form of 1973 Constitution to run the country. Army always took over power by dint of force. Yahya Khan dismembered the country and Ziaul Haq pursued Jehadi policies for the sake of US interests. Now Gen Musharraf was bringing to end the Jehadi culture. Military operation should be discontinued in tribal areas.
PML-N and PPP leadership were strengthening the hands of Gen Musharraf by contesting the elections, he alleged.
The internal and external policies being adopted by Gen Musharraf are inappropriate.
Political parties should be authorized to elect their representatives. A neutral national government should be put in place in the country forthwith. Musharraf should resign and Senate chairman be appointed interim president. The interim government should be framed in consultation with all parties, he demanded.
He appealed to people not to support the parties that were contesting elections. The Election Commission is partial and the judiciary is detained. Therefore any fair and transparent elections in the prevailing situation stand ruled out. MMA is split up in fact. One faction is contesting the election. People should not cast vote in favour of any party in the name of Jamaat-i-Islami, he appealed. One religious party, which is contesting election, should not use the symbol of book.
