Looking at the statistics and burning cars, buses, shops and motorcycles one feels but embarrassed at oneself. The violent manner in which the people took to streets and they way they damaged public as well as private property is condemnable.
Here it is important to point out that it is not just the angry hooligans but also the police and the local administrations that should be blamed for the whole mishap that cost Rs100 billion to the economy of Pakistan in just three days.
An inquiry must be conducted regarding the negligence shown by the police and the district administrations that led to the damage done. A lot could have been saved if the concerned authorities would have acted in a more responsible manner.
