AT THE CROSS ROADS OF HISTORY
July 01, 2011
The barrage of visits by US top political and strategic officials also signifies the fact that how keen is the US establishment in its pursuit of implementing the spirit of AFPAK doctrine. Now US top security establishment is interacting with military leadership owing to tremendous range of potential cooperation in the current conflict in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it has one more dimension , military’s potential high performance capabilities as perceived by US authorities, are supposed to be used to both plunge the morale of the soldiers and damage the sanctity in the eyes of the common Pakistani.AFPAK , doctrine as envisaged by Obama was meant for shifting afghan war into Pakistan.Paksiatni rulers are incompetent enough to comply with the needs of US strategists, or they have been already successful tools in the hands of great gamers.
Talking to newsmen on 11th June while in Islamabad , PTI chief , declared the events of 2nd , 22nd May as part of defaming campaign undertaken by the "evil forces" occupying Afghanistan. He was addressing a press gathering at F-7 on the joining ceremony of Islamabad’s renowned businessman Mr. Basit Shakil hashmi, who announced to join PTI along with his colleagues and several prominent figures from different union councils of district Chakwal..Imran khan , further added that foreign forces have the designs to destroy Pakistan’s security forces and military because without that they can't capture Pakistani nukes and annihilate its sovereignty forever. A strong and stern military is a must for Pakistan, as no nation can survive without a strong defense force. Pakistan’s military should read the writing on the wall and disengage from the American war on terror, as this war has been designed as an auto generator to devastate the Pakistani defense forces .Pakistan has burnt more than 50$B in the blaze of this war and its foreign debts have increased several times owing to undaunted destruction, seizure of industrial and economic activity , the evil silhouette of social anarchy , and a systematic institutional collapse and decay.Imran khan was of the view that Pakistani forces should do away with undertaking military operations in FATA , and other areas because in this way the enemy will be benefitted , because it gives an impression that as if army is fighting its own people.Qauide Azam said , there was no need to maintain military check posts along the afghan border because the People of FATA were the soldiers of Pakistan without uniform.
A military operation in North Waziristan remains the main focus of interest of US military strategist these days. Enormous pressure is being applied on Pakistan’s military leadership, both by CIA chief and Admiral Moulin in this connection. It is very unlikely that Pakistan’s patsy rulers have not been convinced in this connection because they are product of NRO, in words of imran khan. Certain global powers want unrest in NW, because, only in this way Pakistan can be plunged into the anathema of a civil war. There are certain groups in NW like that of Hafiz Gulabahadur, and Mullah Nazir, who never fired even a bullet at the Pakistani military forces. So in one way or the other, they have a different objective than that of TTP, i.e. undertaking deadly assaults on the Pakistani forces. Similarly, the afghan Taliban group of Sirajuddin Haqqani has similar objective, i.e. pushing occupation forces out of Afghanistan, and they have nothing to do with fighting Pakistani forces. Operation in SW was different because it was the den of TTP , which assumed hostile attitude towards the writ of Pakistani government and the military. Therefore , to neutralize them was mandatory on part of defense forces , in order to maintain the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan because TTP has been infiltrated by the foreign sabotage assets. Now what US could not have achieved in Afghanistan i.e. defeating Taliban and permanent occupation of Afghanistan, it is asserting Pakistan to achieve US objectives. Most of the problems created for Pakistani military are due to this policy of sharing war on terror with occupation forces present in the garb of ISAF forces. Because in this way many former mujahedeen groups look at Pakistan as a satellite state of US having shared objectives with United States. US perceive, NW could be a problem for the occupation forces in Afghanistan, but then Pakistan should fight American war? The reason is simple, the American objectives regarding NW carry piles of detriment for Pakistan. So a military operation in NW by Pakistan would be a suicidal act, and instead of that Pakistan should clearly tell Americans that she can't be convinced to undertake a decisive blow to its own integrity. In a situation whereby , Americans are sorting out , a "political solution" to the Afghan deadlock , and to avert its defeat in that country , how can Pakistan be forced to continue with military operations within its own territory, and against its own people. They have been fighting soviets hand in hand with Pakistan? I think , here the political solution can work miracles because , Pakistan has always remained a natural ally of the mujahedeen. Pakistan has ideological background to its acts of solidarity with anybody and therefore has limits of ideological framework .This is obligatory , owing to Pakistan's ideological foundations lying deep to the historical retrospect .Whereas , the ideology of the occupation forces is different , having global , colonial agenda tinged with intent of hagemony. So , if Pakistan , disengages from war on terror this will leave the hostile assets permeated within the insurgents , naked and isolated and the plenty of cracks will appear within insurgent unity. In this way Pakistan can break the vicious cycle of terror perpetrated against in the garb of friendship and it can harness the tides of chaos, bloodshed and carnage inundating the integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan.
