Let there be no doubt – US is routed in Afghanistan

It’s now over a decade since the US attack on Afghanistan and its takeover without any authority or sanction from the United Nations. Around 1.5 million innocent men, women and children have been butchered by the US and its allies. Today, the US administration is considering getting out of the ugly situation of its own making in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Ironically, the western countries still think that they are friends of Afghanistan and Pakistan and should stay a little longer to allow the locals to settle down and carry out development in the war-torn areas. In the latest development, the German government is tabling a proposal for complete pullout of its forces from Afghanistan by the end of this year. In this regard, a German delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, visited Pakistan and hinted that a proposal had been drafted for the pullout of German troops from Afghanistan. The Pakistani side was told that the proposal would be submitted to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s cabinet and later to parliament for the approval.

US Vice President Joe Biden is also visiting Pakistan on Tuesday, Jan 11. Many associate his visit with renewed military and economic assistance to Pakistan. Why Washington would extend a favour without vested interests is a serious riddle that needs to be comprehended. Kabul and Islamabad have already suffered because of the foolish tactical and strategic agreements without any parliamentary approval. One expects from our leaders that they would not undertake any secret dictation and subsequent agreements this time. One wonders the things which Pakistan had been protecting and securing, considering disclosure a disadvantage to US and its allies, are intentionally leaked in interviews to the media by the US leaders and command, if it suits them.
There are strong indications that Washington will give assurance to Pakistan that it will not allow India either to become a military force or have role in the political solution of Afghanistan. One wonders Washington has not learnt a lesson from the shameful defeat in Afghanistan and is still projecting itself as victorious. How can Washington have any role in either future of Afghanistan, Afghan military strategy or the political solution when neither its forces have the will nor the courage or the potential to send even a company size force for a single night outside its fortified castles? One wonders an attractive theme from the US “clear, hold and build” was nothing more than an eyewash, as same could not be witnessed on ground during the last 10 years.
If there was some development in shape of maintenance of some roads, two highways, water and energy project or a couple of missionary schools, it was for their own convenience. What anyone would expect? Are such projects undertaken even in the least developed countries in a routine? If the foreign occupying forces claim that they spend billions of dollars in Afghanistan and Pakistan, this money is spent on their own troops in shape of pay and allowances, traveling expenditures, security and military and administrative equipment. Even western future projects in Afghanistan and Pakistan are linked with a grand strategy to win economic contracts, extinguish Islam from the region and induce western values among the masses.
The latest propaganda that President Barack Hussain Obama rejected a proposal that the US ground forces should conduct raids against insurgent’s safe heavens inside Pakistan. Washington should be very clear about the sacrifices of Pakistan Army and security forces. One wonders the US forces cannot do any better than the shameful performance in Afghanistan. Heavy payments to the media houses and individuals to print and telecast” THEY ARE ON THE RUN” can neither change the ground position nor turn the US defeat into a victory. It is an open secret that majority of the areas in Afghanistan are either directly under the control of the Taliban or they have their influence through local supporters. It would be blessing in disguise if the US and foreign forces are able to withdraw from Afghanistan without a major loss.
It is pertinent to mention here that a good number of allied forces from Afghanistan have already been airlifted to home through passages in the Central Asian Republican states, Russia and Pakistan. The other bulk will be withdrawn from June this year. Of course, there are some new faces in the name of Reconstruction Team who are yet to start their assigned task. The world must come out of the media spell and accept that Afghanistan and Pakistan witnessed the crushing defeats of the two so-called super powers one after another. The evil occupants are so evil-minded that to cover their defeat they can even go for an all-out nuclear attack on portions of Afghanistan and Pakistan just like they did in Japan. In the end they would blame extremists to have stolen the nuclear material and used against their own people. The peaceful people of the world and the so-called instrument of peace “the United Nations Organization” should wake up and stop the beasts from rampage the world peace.
