Kaleidoscope of emotions

Ahmad Zoay’s paintings evoked a kaleidoscope of emotions in the visitors during an exhibition at Citi Art Galley, Karachi. The solo show comprise of works in acrylic on canvas full of colours sharing the milieu in which he resided.
His works ignite a natural stimulus that surely help ease the tense life and give opportunity to people to recognize their own soft and enlightened image, which hide within them all along.
With distinct palette and typical strokes, uncommon pictorial substance and unique colour combinations Zoay portrays human emotions very effectively.
Ahmad Zoay possesses a unique vision of the world. He feels misfit in social circles regarding his subject to paint. The exhibition revolves around a particular theme inspired by women and feminism. His work shows women in bright colours that emit energy. He has chosen Kama Sutra – a tale of love as a subject to be represented in his pieces of artwork. His belief in the supremacy of nature leads him to this subject.
The explosive appearance of the paintings made them more attractive and invites a keen eye to find the real message behind them. The bold and dazzling colours and features of the paintings offer glimpses of the labour of love by the artist. One must delve into the intricacies of his work to know a new world, which teaches to win somebody’s love, affection, or admiration, often through strength of character or seduction using a romantic or deceptive approach.
The surface of his canvases is vibrant, expressive and considerably dramatic in appearance. His paintings palette show more focus on primary colours.
A prolific blending of all sorts of shapes in abundance and luminous colour combinations are the signature style of Zoay’s work. The dazzling impressive voluptuously sensual figures are created from the sweeping lines of impasto dots that depict definite feelings. Thus his images reveal an intense element of passions that result due to human emotions.
His works has a unique texture of its own. His work reflects his thoughts which are largely influenced by bright colours of the nature and he uses this force of nature in expressing and highlighting taboo subjects in abstract. His paintings have many different parts or a lot of detail and are organized in a complicated way thus he elaborates his subject in such a way that the creation became a bold statement, covering social taboo, identity crisis or a female issue.
A galaxy of colours engulfs his creations and the splash of colours overwhelms his canvases. The radiant bright red, blue, green and yellow are perfectly balanced by a touch of whites and an outline of black gives a definite shape and appearance to the paintings. He vibrates the canvas with female tales getting support from illusions that help him create figurative and sensuous forms in a simple yet inspiring way.
